U.S. President Donald Trump laced his “policy address” at the White House on Thursday with crude anti-immigrant rhetoric as he vowed to take stronger measures to restrict asylum seekers from “invading” the country.

Referring to the Central American migrant caravan that’s heading towards the U.S.-Mexico border, Trump said he will issue a comprehensive executive order next week to deny asylum to those individuals who enter the country between official ports of entry, writes Al Jazeera.

In his incendiary speech, Trump went on to brag about authorizing the U.S. troops to consider rocks thrown by migrants as firearms and respond with live ammunition, notes The Guardian. The president echoes his customary “divisive rally speeches” as he threatened immigrants of indefinite detentions, a plan which runs afoul the existing U.S. immigration laws.
