“Pollution Pods” bring world’s toxic air to London

The Western countries, though not unaware of the sickening levels of air pollution in developing cities across the world, remain distant to the harrowing experience of breathing choking emissions.

“Pollution Pods,” an exhibition in front of Somerset House, an art museum in London, comprises of interconnected, geodesic domes, with some of them filled with chemicals replicating the air quality of Delhi, Beijing and Sao Paulo, writes Earther.

Visitors seamlessly walk from an atmosphere of polluted air to pods filled with clean air of modern London and Tautra Island, experiencing the contrast in the two worlds. The installation by artist Michael Pinsky is an innovative approach, highlighting how people’s perceptions of climate change can be influenced by climate-related visual art, notes Next City.
