The typically abstruse definitions of environment-related catchphrases elicit little action and more questions. The many layers obscuring the true meaning of “sustainable travel” is one such example where people are often left wondering about this high-level concept.

To get the people to really act in line with travel sustainability, the definition needs to be chunked into actionable steps while highlighting its differences with regular travel, writes Green Matters.

Organizations are now working to educate people about how even the smallest decisions such as eating at locally-owned restaurant on a trip falls within the gamut of sustainable travel, notes The New York Times.
