If you have always felt a sense of calm and elation near “blue space” – the expansive view of water – a study by researchers from New Zealand and Michigan State University (MSU) now testifies the real, quantifiable benefits of this affinity.
The team found that the increased views of “blue space” corresponded with lower levels of psychological distress in people, writes Tree Hugger.
Interestingly, even the green space, comprising of man-made features like sports fields and playgrounds, had a weaker positive impact on mental health compared to “blue space.”
