RoadBotics, a Pittsburgh-based startup, has developed AI algorithms that use your smartphone camera to track the health of the roads in real time and create a dynamic map to alert the authorities of the anomalies.
The cloud-based deep learning platform is currently being used in 22 municipalities, towns, cities, and counties across eight states in the U.S., writes Digital Trends.
The system presents a cost-effective, uniform and timely way of assessing a road system, as authorities get to allocate resources for repairs based on a data-driven view of that road, meter by meter, notes Observer Reporter.
