Over 50 of the world’s leading experts in artificial intelligence gathered for an event organized by the Future Society at Harvard Kennedy’s School of Government in collaboration with H.E. Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, the U.A.E.’s Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, brainstorming on the global governance of artificial intelligence.

The panelists underscored the need for the governments to match industries in AI innovation, and for that purpose, appoint a “Minister of AI,” who will regulate open access to the AI ecosystem and lay down the rules and regulations, writes Futurism.

The U.A.E., harboring dreams of futuristic robot cops, autonomous cars and more, has already appointed a minister dedicated to AI in its pursuit to be “the world’s most prepared country for artificial intelligence.”
