The New York Times is ushering in “the newest advancement of journalism” as it employs augmented reality to create a bridge between our physical and digital worlds, letting us experience news right into our rooms.

With a smartphone and the NYT app, one will be able to catch all the action of the upcoming Winter Olympics in 3D space, thanks to the AR technology, notes Design Boom.

This new form of journalism puts stories from the confines of a screen to your space at real scale, enhancing their “provocative, explanatory value” and in the process, shows the evolving nature of how we share ideas and tell stories, The New York Times.
