Adam Schiff, the top-ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, which quizzed Steve Bannon over alleged ties between Moscow and the Trump presidential campaign, condemned the White House for its “gag order” after Trump’s former aide refused to answer questions.
Bannon, who received a grand jury subpoena last week, refused to answer questions related to his work during the presidential transition, citing instructions from the White House, notes The Guardian.
A White House official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, claimed that the president did not invoke executive privilege to silence Bannon, writes ABC News.
