The resignation of Britain’s International Development Secretary, Priti Patel, has forced a second cabinet reshuffle on Prime Minister Theresa May within the span of a week. The government is under pressure to reveal the facts about Patel’s unauthorized meetings with Israeli officials.

Patel, a strong voice in the Vote Leave campaign, hit the eye of a political storm after reports of her private meetings with Israeli officials emerged last week, writes the BBC. Patel later admitted that her actions lacked “transparency and openness,” despite the best of intentions.

Patel’s resignation, which comes within seven days after Sir Michael Fallon stepped aside as the Defense Secretary, puts pressure on May to induct another Eurosceptic in the cabinet, notes The Guardian
