Britain trials solar panels that roll out like carpet

A British Tech company, Renovagen, has designed a novel solar panel system, called the Rapid Roll, which unfurls like a carpet from behind a truck, offering a better alternative to stiff, regular old panels, particularly when restoring power supplies in areas ravaged by natural disasters.

The Rapid Roll solar panels, packed in 4×4 trailers, are being trialed in Flat Holm, an island in the middle of the Bristol Channel in Great Britain, writes New Atlas.

The novel solar panel system, capable of producing 11 kW of power, packs nearly 10 times more energy compared to their traditional rigid counterparts in the same container size, notes Futurism.
