“Float” car concept wins London design contest

If the winner of a recently concluded Renault design competition in London has her way, we could be moving in floating bubble cars that would allow the travelers to be more open and social with the outside world.

Named “The Float,” Yuchen Cai’s concept car runs on magnetic levitation technology, features glass exteriors and appears like a bubble on the roads, notes Inhabitat.

Fifteen students participated in Renault’s Designjunction 2017 competition that tasked contestants to conceptualize the future of autonomous, modular car design along with supporting infrastructure and services, writes Top Gear.
