Social media giant Facebook is set to lock horns with YouTube and TV networks as it launched a dedicated video platform, which it claims, will do away with the “passive” element in watching the shows.

Soon, Facebook users will see a “Watch” tab, which will take them to wide-ranging shows and also allow real time sharing of comments and connecting with friends, making it an active experience, notes the BBC.

Part of the video content will be created by professional producers while remaining will be community-generated organic stuff, writes Sky News.
