In a big step towards making zero-emissions transport a practical option in near future, students at Eindhoven University of Technology have built a 5-seater electric car that runs entirely on solar power.
Named Stella Vie, the car is touted as “the most efficient family car that has ever been built,” as it can deliver a range of up to 1,000 kilometers from energy produced during a bright, sunny day, writes Design Boom.
“The car of the future” is equipped with high-tech features, including a smart navigation system that parks it taking the position of the sun into account for optimal charging and a traffic events warning system, notes Inhabitat.
