Fashion designer Birce Ozkan has crafted the Augmented Jacket, which draws inspiration from birds’ built-in biological compasses and features black cockerel feathers that flutter when the wearer faces north.
The smart fashion piece is equipped with an electronic compass that connects to the ends of the feathers, writes Dezeen. Of late, researchers have focused on developing interactive clothing, for example Ying Gao's pair of dresses respond by lighting up when someone stares at them.
The designer plans to upgrade the jacket so that it syncs with Google Maps and can give directional signals, notes Mental Floss.
