For the ones tantalized by those high-end AR headsets, like Microsoft’s HoloLens, a team of five industrial design students from the University of Twente in the Netherlands has designed a cheap cardboard kit, priced at $30, which creates an immersive AR experience for its users.
Called the Aryzon AR, the kit is made from cardboard measuring about 13-by-7 inches and comprises a mirror, stereoscopic Fresnel lenses and a combiner glass, which project the user’s smartphone images and videos into their real environment, writes Seeker.
For those interested in this cheap yet exciting AR system could pledge $24 via a Kickstarter campaign and bag one when the production starts, notes New Atlas.
