A French startup, Velco, has designed an innovative handlebar, called the Wink Bar, which virtually turns any bike into a smartbike, making rides safer and smarter without the need to attach myriads of accessories.
The handlebar is a drop-in replacement, featuring inbuilt lights that automatically turn on and off, a high-tech navigation system and a secure anti-theft track and alarm system and can be unlocked using its built-in Bluetooth and the phone app, writes Design Boom.
Powered by a removable lithium ion battery, the Wink Bar also stores ride stats, routes and more to integrate it with the rider’s fitness profile, notes Tree Hugger.
