American online retail giant, Amazon, looks set to open its futuristic checkout-free grocery stores in the U.K. as it bagged a trademark approval for its slogans “No Lines. No Checkout. (No, Seriously.)” and “No Queue. No Checkout. (No, Seriously.)” from the U.K. Intellectual Property Office on Friday.

Called Amazon Go, these stores replace any staff or checkouts with sensors and a smartphone application to track what the customers are taking along and accordingly update the cost on the shopper’s virtual account, writes Seattle Times.

Amazon, however, needs to sort out few issues before it takes on competitors in the U.K., notes The Verge. The checkout-free stores reportedly break down when the number of people exceeds 20 and also tracking takes a hit when products are put back at a wrong place.
