Facebook C.E.O. Mark Zuckerberg on Wednesday revealed his plans for Facebook’s video tab, which will be a new, video-only feed, where users will get to watch “episodic content.” The vision to take over TV doesn’t surprise the analysts as Facebook has been focusing hard on video content through services such as Live feature for a long time.
Presenting a new dedicated “TV platform” to its users would allow Facebook to deliver more ads, given that the space in its News Feed is shrinking to accommodate more promotional content, writes MIT Technology Review.
Outlining his ambitious video plans, Zuckerberg said that he want people to turn to Facebook whenever they want to track their favorite show, any news or anything that they currently view on television, reports Recode.
