Addressing his supporters in Grand Junction, Colorado, on Tuesday, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said if he wins the election, he would impose term limits on members of Congress to “drain the swamp” of corruption in the U.S. Trump’s remarks came a day ahead of the third and final presidential debate, as he seeks to put up a strong show in a battle that seems to be swiftly tilting towards rival Hillary Clinton.

Trump said he would limit the term of members of the House of Representatives to a maximum of six years, while Senators would be limited to 12 years in office, notes Fox News.

Trump’s address, suggesting a five-point plan for “ethics reform” in government, attempted to project the billionaire as an outsider fighting a corrupt political establishment, reports The Guardian. Trump’s speech appeared laced with racist overtone, as he defiantly urged his supporters to be vigilant about potential voting fraud in cities dominated by African-American population.

Miffed at Trump’s rhetoric over a potential rigging of U.S. election, President Barack Obama told the Republican to “stop whining,” describing the presidential candidate’s attempt to malign the electoral process as “unprecedented,” writes the BBC. Obama also took a dig at Trump’s “continued flattery” of Russian President Vladimir Putin after Trump remarked that he would consider visiting Moscow before assuming office.
