The Democratic Presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and opponent Bernie Sanders saw both sides engaging in a furious verbal clash, not shying from trading personal barbs and questioning each other’s judgment and qualification for the presidency. In the two-hour debate at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, the two presidential hopefuls outshouted each other while discussing Wall Street, gun control and other issues ahead of Tuesday's crucial nominating contest in New York.

Reuters writes:

Describing the debate as “far short of the brawls” characteristic to Republican debates, the media outlet underscored the “mounting pressure” on the two Democratic candidates as the reason behind such acrimonious exchange. As the debate concluded, Sanders bagged 173,000 mentions on Twitter with 55 percent being positive, while Clinton scaled up to 191,000 mentions with 54 percent of them negative, shared social media analyst Brandwatch.

The Guardian reports:

The debate, which was fierce from the outset, witnessed new heights in political rhetoric. Ridiculing Clinton’s claim that she took strong action against big banks, Sanders said, “Oh my goodness, they must have been really crushed by this.” Clinton retorted by reminding Sanders of the recent interview in which he failed to spell out the details of dealing with the big banks.
