Japanese stem cell scientist found hanged

Yoshiki Sasai, deputy director of the Riken Center for Developmental Biology, has been found dead in his office. His hanging is suspected to be a suicide judging from the notes he wrote to his coworkers found in his briefcase. He had been acclaimed for his work in stem cell research, but oversaw findings that had to be retracted earlier this year after they were disputed.
