China blames religious extremists for station blast

Three people were killed, including the assailants, in Wednesday's attack in the western region of Xianjiang, which has seen increasing violence in recent years. Though Beijing maintains that Islamist militants are responsible for the surge in violence, rights groups argue that the government's suppression of minority communities is to blame.
