U.S. Congress finalizes debt ceiling hike

Passage in the House of Representatives on Tuesday seemed to make an increase in the American debt ceiling a foregone conclusion, though Tea Party Senator Ted Cruz did his best to keep the nation in suspense, using procedural hijinks to create some last-minute drama. Ultimately, moderates and Republican leadership with ties to the business community prevailed.
