Benjamin Lawsky, New York's financial services superintendent, has opened an investigation into manipulation of the currency markets by large banks and is requesting documents from more than a dozen institutions, including Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank. It was not clear when DFS, which regulates any bank national or foreign in the state, sent the request but banks are in various stages of responding to it, the Financial Times reports.
