Israel pol said to call Kerry "messianic"

Defense minister Moshe Yaalon allegedly said that Kerry's efforts were the fruit of "misplaced obsession and messianic fervor," in comments published in Yediot Ahronoth, an Israeli daily paper. The remarks -- critized both by White House spokesman Jay Carney and Israel's chief negotiatior Tzipi Livni -- add tension to an already brittle series of talks, a quick apology notwithstanding.
