FIFA delays announcement on 2022 World Cup

The controversially decision to award the 2022 World Cup to Qatar was centered around when the games would be held; with concerns over the heat in the Gulf state posing a major problem to players and spectators alike. While it is known that the games will not be held during the traditional June-July timeframe, FIFA delayed announcing when specifically they would be moved to. Those announcements, according to FIFA, will not be made until after the 2014 World Cup concludes in Brazil.
