U.S. jobless benefits no sure thing

Millions of unemployed Americans looked set to get a major boost when the slow-moving Senate passed an extension of jobless benefits on Tuesday, but the far more conservative House has yet to weigh in, and Tea Party Republicans want cuts from other programs to pay the tab.
