Twelve bottles of Romanée-Conti set a new record for a case of wine sold at auction when they went for HK$3.7 million ($477,000) at Christie’s Fine and Rarest Wine sale in Hong Kong. The winning bid for the 1978 Burgundy blew away the previous record of $345,000. Continuing the heady prices for contemporary and modern art achieved earlier this month in New York sales, a record HK$70.7 million was bid at the auction house's Asian 20th century and contemporary art sale for "Untitled," an abstract painting by Zhu Dequn, the highest amount paid for the Chinese-French artist’s work. Christie's realized HK$1.2 billion at the sale, a house record in Hong Kong.
