Graham to block Fed, Homeland picks over Benghazi

WASHINGTON (AP) — A senator says he'll block President Barack Obama's nominees for Federal Reserve chairman and Homeland Security Department chief in a dispute over last year's attack in Benghazi, Libya.

South Carolina Republican Lindsey Graham wants to force the administration to let survivors talk to Congress.

Graham tells a Capitol Hill news conference that putting a Senate hold on all future nominees is the only leverage in his effort to get answers.

Graham and others in Congress are criticizing the administration over the Sept. 11, 2012, attack that killed U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans in Libya.

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee already has deposed a diplomatic security agent who was an eyewitness to the attack.
