Facebook has reportedly been in talks for the past month to buy the social mapping company Waze. Reports say Facebook decided not to buy the company. Waze is a GPS system that collects information about road conditions from drivers who use its product. Waze then uses that information to provide other drivers with road blockages and information. Drivers do not need to actively contribute to Waze. Information will be collected if they leave their app open. Waze has additional feature such as "groups" that can share information and carpool, as well as badges for checking into certain locations.
