Ford to shutter Australian plants by 2016

Ford Motor says it will close its Australian manufacturing plants by October 2016, bringing to an end more than 85 years of making vehicles in the country. About 1,200 workers are expected to lose their jobs. The U.S. carmaker says its its Australian operations had lost $580m over the past five years.
