Android addiction hard to kick for China's smartphone makers

The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology white paper recently denounced the operating system's dominance in the country. But Android's 90% marketshare of the smartphone space is not so easy to undo when developers and consumers alike are loyal users. The Ministry's main problem with Android's prevalence is that it is owned by Google - the tech giant with which China has had a rocky history as they directly oppose each other on how free and open the internet should be.
