Brazil's central bank announced it was keeping its interest rate at 7.25% record low, for the second straight, following October's decission, as it tries to bolster the economy without adding to inflation pressures. Brazil's inflation ended 2012 above the center of a government target range at 5.84%, higher than the bank’s 4.5% target. Lower interest rates has been a top priority for president Dilma Rousseff to revive the economy and cheapen the cost of credit.
