France Telecom continues to focus on emerging markets to increase revenue and has recently stated that it seeks to grow its presence in Africa, more specifically to Algeria, Burkina Faso, Gabon and Mauritania. In a similar move, Baidu, China’s biggest online search engine, is to launch its largest international expansion to date with an exclusive deal to develop a mobile browser across Africa and the Middle East for many of the smartphones sold by France Telecom. The Paris-based company, that has 70 million customers in Africa, has said that African customers' monthly phone bills will decline further.
