Research in Motion will launch its BlackBerry 10 mobile platform in the coming weeks, but it has already received 15,000 app submissions as a result of hosting two Portathons in which app makers were urged to submit apps ready for the operating system. RIM's shares spiked with this news as investors wait to see if BB10 will bring the adoption the company needs to stay competitive with other major smartphone makers.
