Luxembourg’s prime minister, Jean-Claude Juncker, is close to ending his tenure as president of the Eurogroup where he's been since the group was created in 2005. As he gets ready to leave, hailing the euro and ESM –the rescue fund to recapitalize banks and reduce the burden on high debt countries– he did not confirm who would be his successor as the head of the Eurogroup, due to be announced at the group’s next meeting on January 21. Rumors point at Dutch finance minister, Jeroen Dijsselbloem, as probable new chief.
