Afghanistan has imposed controls on U.S. dollar flows across its border with Iran following the collapse of the Iranian currency. Afghan and Iranian travellers are being limited to taking $1,000 out of the country. Traders and currency speculators in the western Afghan city of Hera have been hit hard by the rial's slide. In Tehran, police patrolled the Grand Bazaar where shops remained shuttered the day after clashes with protestors angered by the rial's loss of two-fifths of its value in the past week and 80% over the past year.
