Just after Hopstop hit the 2 million users mark and increased its speed, the company decided to drop the BlackBerry app. The decision was mainly due to lack of advertiser interest in placing adds in BlackBerry apps.Hopstop provides public transit, cab, walking and biking directions in major metropolitan markets throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe and Russia. Hopstop's recent cosmetic and speed improvements doubled user engagement. Another move that sets the stage for the transit direction-providers growth: iOS recently dropped Google Maps, which could make Hopstop the primary resource for directions.
