Erdogan: Khashoggi's killing “planned” days in advance

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday told MPs from his ruling party that the “savage” killing of Saudi writer and critic Jamal Khashoggi was planned days in advance before he was murdered on October 2 in the kingdom's consulate in Istanbul.

Erdogan asked pointed questions to Riyadh, seeking answers as to why a team of 15 Saudi agents gathered in Istanbul on the day Khashoggi was brutally killed and who called the shots behind the scenes, notes Al Jazeera.

Saudi Arabia’s version of Khashoggi’s disappearance has changed from outright denial to accepting that the journalist was “murdered” in a “rogue operation” but the whereabouts of his body remains a mystery, reports the BBC.
