The latest entrant in the club of smart gadgets and wearables is a pair of smart glasses that lets an individual switch the lights on and off with just a blink of an eye. The assistive technology provides hands-free operation for a range of basic tasks, which could be helpful for those with limited or no mobility of limbs.

The arms of the smart glasses are embedded with highly sensitive sensors that detect the motion of skin as one blinks, writes New Scientist.

The sensor-equipped glasses, developed by Zhong Lin Wang at the Georgia Institute of Technology, have been trained to differentiate between involuntary blinks and deliberate ones, notes New China.
