HealthJoy, a Chicago-based startup, is leveraging artificial intelligence and chatbot technology to drive down the health costs for businesses overburdened with hefty premium payments for their employees’ health insurance.

The company’s chatbot, named JOY, bundles a variety of services, routing the people to higher quality, less expensive care, something that’s not the case with traditional phone-based advocacy services, writes Entrepreneur.

Studies show that a very small percentage of Americans really understand the insurance terms, which are unnecessarily complex, and end up shelling out much more, an area that JOY addresses with artificial intelligence and access to big data, notes Venture Beat.
