A joint survey by The Washington Post and ABC News showed that the U.S. President Donald Trump’s approval rating slumped to 36 percent, an all-time low in 70 years for any president after first six months in office.

In an apparent effort to shrug off the abysmal rating, Trump took to Twitter calling the numbers “not bad” while “incorrectly” reminding Americans that the same poll was the most inaccurate around election time, writes The Guardian.

The steep erosion in Trump’s popularity has been attributed to his contentious domestic policies, America’s weakening stature on the world stage and his campaign’s alleged links to Russia, notes Independent.
